Imphal flooded with unhygienic packaged drinking water

Packaged drinking water, which is often considered to be a safe and convenient option for drinking water, is turning out to be no better than the water from ponds or rivers with customers complaining of dirty particles found inside the packaged drinking water bottles sold in Imphal shops.
Evoke, a packaged drinking water bottle manufactured by Bishra Aqua Minerals of C-10 Takyel Industrial Estate, Imphal was found filled with dirty foreign particles inside the water bottle when one Th Dhamendra of Heirok Part II bought the packaged water bottle from a shop in Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak today.
Speaking to media persons, Th Dhamendra said that the water bottle (Evoke) which he had bought from the shop cost Rs 15 and was labeled with the manufacturing date of March 29, 2012 and also had an ISI marked on it.
However, when he opened the bottle he saw the dirty particles floating inside the package drinking water bottle which may be harmful to human health.
Considering it fit to inform the media and warn the general public about the incident, he along with two of his friends decided to take up the issue through media, he added.
Interestingly, the 1 litre packaged drinking water bottle in question is labeled with the words - "This bottle contains water treated through our 5-step-state-of-the-art process comprising of sand filter, carbon filter, Reverse Osmosis UV Treated and Ozonisation" .
The Bishra Aqua Minerals belong to one RK Birendra of Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai.
