Lecture on Act East Policy conducted

A lecture programme on "Future Contours of India's Act East Policy in the Emerging Geo-Strategic Environment" was held today at Manipur University.
The programme was jointly organised by Manipur University and Assam Rifles.
At the function, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), Rajan Sharwat stated that the Assam Rifles signed a memorandum of understanding on March 6, 2021 to do more research work on conflict studies, National security, socioeconomic condition and culture of South East Asia and North East India.
Jaideep Saikia, a terrorism and security analyst and an expert on North East India was the guest lecturer of the function.
In his speech, Jaideep spoke briefly about the Act East Policy, China-Myanmar and Myanmar-North East India relations.
He said that Manipur has a big role to play in Act East Policy and the State must be prepared for it.
Top ranking officials of Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Intelligence Agencies and faculty members of MU also attended the programme among others.
