“Kanagi Maralno” released

Imphal, January 22, 2012:
A book entitled “Kanagi Maralno” which contains 17 short stories, written by Laishram Wangthou (Samananda Khuman) was released by the Tirtular King of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba at MDU Hall today.
Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Leishemba Sanajaoba said that the youths of today lack the culture of reading books as compared to youth of different communities in different parts of the world.
The youths of our society are only concerned with the books which are included in their school and college syllabus and never try to engage in books outside their syllabus which is useful them.
He further said that there are lots of writers in the state, many of them young writers.
But unfortunately there are not many youth readers although there are quite a few old aged readers.
Youth should inculcate the habit of reading books during their leisure time.
The function was graced by KC Laishram, retired Under Secretary as the president.
K Kalidas, retired Lecturer of DM College of Teachers Education, A Sarat, Pradhan, Langthabal Mantrikhong Naorem Leikai GP, Tourem ongbi Mamcha, Pradhan, Patsoi Part III, Ch Romio, Pradhan, Thongju Part II were the Guest of Honour.
