Liquor seized at Nungba

Imphal, January 22, 2012:
As part of police's initiative taken-up in connection with the forthcoming elections, static surveillance team of Nungba AC led by Inspector John Lamkang intercepted 280 litres of local liquor from Noney check-post at around 5.30 pm of January 18. The liquor which brought in a Tata Sumo bearing Registration No MN01K 7902 were recovered from the possession of Gaingamlung Kamei (20) s/o Ajik Kamei of Lubanglong, Khoupum.
In similar incident occurred in the same check-post, another 200 litres of local made liquor were seized from the possession of Sougrakpam Kanta Singh (26) s/o S Rabei Singh of Heigrujam Imphal West presently residing at Awangkhul Tamenglong.
The liquor were intercepted by the police team from a maruti van bearing Registration No MN1A 2514 at around 5.10 am of January 21. The seized liquor were set ablaze today in the presence of Longmai village authority and Nisha bandh.
