Imphal, October 14 2008:
Taking serious note of the malfunctioning of BSNL in Senapati district, the Mao Students' Union (MSU) has decried that during load shedding nights, mobile networks were often made unavailable or cut off after 11 pm till 5 am under Paomata and Mao Gate Telephone Exchanges.
In a representation submitted to the SDO (T), BSNL Senapati, the MSU questioned where the fuel for generator had been siphoned off.
For the last 27 days, false beaming of networks which fall short of calls has been causing problems to the subscribers with messages like "Errors in network connection" and "Network busy" appearing on cell phone screens most of the time, specially in areas under Paomata Telephone Exchange, it said.
The MSU further urged the SDO (T) to explain the messy state of affairs within 15 days and take up necessary actions to redress the grievance of telephone subscribers both land line and cell phones at the earliest.
