Imphal, June 14 2015 :
One Bengal slow loris was jointly rescued on Friday by Heirok police personal led by Inspector RK Eden (OC) and volunteers of People For Animals (PFA) .
The loris was found by one Khundrakpam Prem of Heirok Part 1 Mamang Leikai near his residence.
Including this one, the number of loris (schedule 1) rescued this year have reached three.
One hawk was also handed over by one Th Nanao and H Arnold of Singjamei.
The bird was injured and appeared to have been kept in captivity for a long period.
In another incident, one Surjeet Irom of Leisangthem Khong Manung and Usam Surchand, General Secretary of Kairembikhok Student Union and Club handed over two grass owls to PFA today.
The owls were found flightless by one S Ranjit of Kairenbikhok Awang leikai.
All the animals are being treated at PFA Manipur's shelter and would be relocated soon, L Biswajeet Meitei, managing trustee, PFA Manipur informed in a statement.
