KYO Manipur condemns

The Koireng Youth Organisation, Manipur (KYOM) strongly condemned the executive committee of Kom Cultural and Research Institute (KCDRI) for inclusion of the Koireng tribe in the list of Kom Rem tribes that came to appear and published in the local dailies on February 2 and 3 last in connection with a programme on culture and tradition of Kom tribe recently held at Khoirentak village in Churachandpur district.
A press note of the organisation signed by L Rengdon Koireng, information and publicity also demanded to re-acknowledge, re-dress and advice to the organizer (KCDRI) and general public as well as other institutions that Koireng tribe had been vacated and weithdrawn from the parents body, Kom Rem Tribes Union/platform for more than a decade.
On this matter, the statement added, a numerous clarifications, illustrations and platform for statements were published in the press and media of local, state and national level and the matter was also submitted to the concern body.
"It is therefore advice to you to not mention about Koireng tribe in the nomenclature of the Kom Rem tribes anymore in the future,".
it says adding that misleading of general public by secretary of KCDRI is very shocked and condemned.
The state also appealed to Mr N Shakmacha Singh, Museum Association of Indira Gandhi Rastriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) to have more knowledge about the issue and thoroughly analysis for congenial atmosphere.
