Dimapur, May 20 2013:
The Khaplang group of the NSCN has questioned the government of India for the alleged violation of the Ceasefire Ground Rules on several occasions.
The NSCN-K's outburst was prompted by the Saturday night incident where the Assam Rifles have reportedly raided the house of an NSCN-K leader in Zunheboto district of Nagaland.
According to the NSCN-K source, the 21 Assam Rifles raided the residence of the 'political organiser' (PO) of the Sumi Region, NSCN-K Mr Hokishe Zhimomi from 9:30 pm to 10 pm on Saturday 'without rhyme and reason' .
"Hukhevi Yepthomi, the chairman of Sumi Region said that the 21 Assam Rifles raided the residence of PO Sumi Region Hokishe Zhimomi for more than half an hour and totally ransacked the house but failed to find anything.
Adding to mental and physical harassments the Assam Rifles have taken the photo of the PO's wife who is physically impaired moreover, she was also made to sign on a blank paper which NSCN/GPRN viewed as a very serious violation of Ceasefire Ground Rules," the NSCN-K alleged today.
While the NSCN and government of India is in ceasefire, the actions of the Assam Rifles in randomly raiding residences without any rhyme or reason is uncalled for and is aimed at creating situations in the otherwise peaceful situation.
"It can also be mentioned here that presently, Zunheboto is in a peaceful situation but if such provocative actions are not corrected in time situation may go out of hand which the NSCN/GPRN will be not held responsible in the near future.
The provocative actions of the AR personnel not only Zunheboto but also in Longleng, Kiphire and Phek are also being closely monitored as a violation of ceasfire ground rules and any follow up actions by the initiated by the signatory of ceasefire the government of India is also being keenly watched", the NSCN-K added.
The NSCN-K further questions the 31 Assam Rifles and asks, "On whose information the Assam Rifles personnel are acting against the NSCN by raiding the residences of Ao Region supervisor and targeting the NSCN cadres or are the Assam Rifles acting on their own will against the NSCN?" "If the 31 Assam Rifles are acting on somebody's information than the NSCN asked the 31 AR to clarify at the earliest possible time about their actions against the NSCN and the people in general", demanded the NSCN-K .
