Imphal, July 22 2011:
While appreciating the initiative of Ministry of MSME for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban area and the introduction of a new credit linked subsidy programme called Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme, Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has reiterated that the selection of beneficiaries should be purely based on merit and there should be no malpractices during the selection process.
SDSA may be compelled to take recourse to democratic protest against any defaulters if the guidelines laid down for the selection of beneficiaries were not complied with, SDSA president A Pfokrehrii Khrasi warned in a statement.
The Association has also reiterated its appeal to all concerned including the Ministry, the implementing agencies (KVIC, KVIB and DIC) and the bankers to strictly follow the guidelines in the larger interest of the educated unemployed youths of Senapati district in particular and the general public as a whole.
