Director lists assurances to improve Manipur State Central Library

Conveying that the Manipur State Central Library is in a deplorable condition as a result of insufficient manpower and lack of proper infrastructure, Art and Culture Director A Shivdas Sharma has assured that the State Government will try to set aside more fund in the 2020-21 budget to fulfil the needs of the library.
He was speaking as the chief guest of the two days National seminar on "Libraries at the crossroad: Revamp, innovate and make sustainable", organised by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation (RRRLP), Kolkata in association with Department of Art and Culture, GoM and Manipur Library Association (MALA) at Manipur State Archives Hall today.
Keeping the books in the library as it is, he further assured to upgrade the Library into an e-information system.
Maintaining that the libraries in other districts are performing poorly owing to the lack of sufficient staff, he went on to assure that necessary steps will be taken up to make the libraries in districts fully functioning.
He appealed to all to take advantage of such seminar and to gather much knowledge shared by the experts during the two days seminar.
The function was attended by MALA president Kangjam Chaoba and NIELIT Imphal executive director Th Prameshwor.
