Uyal Water Supply Scheme fails to provide 24x7 water supply: Villagers Wangbal GP

Uyal water supply scheme was not able to provide 24 hrs water supply to villagers of Wangbal GP in Khangabok AC, Thoubal District after it has been declared of having the capacity to provide 24x7 water supply to each household of the GP by relevant Dept on January 30 this year, alleged the villagers.
One of the villagers, Ningombam Suramangol while speaking to the media persons said that the villagers of the area were very happy to know that they are going to get unlimited supply of water all day after the concerned department announced that the said water supply scheme will address the water woes of the region by providing 24x7 water supply to the public, which is first of its kind in the district.
He, however, dismissed their claim as the villagers are facing shortage of water due to amateurish annoucement made by the relevant department without identifying the proper source of water to meet the demands of the public.
As such, the villagers of Wangbal GP urged the concerned officials and leaders of the State to look into the matter so that the promise to provide 24x7 water supply through Uyal water supply scheme to 2500 households of Uyal and Wangbal can be fulfilled.
It may be mentioned that the officials of concerned department have announced that the said scheme will be able to provide 24x7 water supply in a simple function organized by Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) Uyal Water Supply Scheme in the presence of MLA Khangabok Kendra O Surjakumar; Pradhan Wangbal GP H Manichandra and Additional Chief Engineer (Rural), PHED Manipur L Swamikanta; EE Thoubal PHE Division Ksh Tombi and Assistant Engineer Th Sharat at Panchyat Ghar, Uyal Makha Leikai on January 30 .
