Minister inspects works at Andro

Forest and Environment Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar today inspected various ongoing projects at Andro constituency.
He said that the various Centrally funded projects/constructions (health and educational institutions) in the constituency will be completed soon.
Commenting on the educational institutions under construction, the Minister said that the institutions, once completed will be able to enrol students/children from poor section of the people who are having hard time sending their kids to private schools.
All efforts will be taken to up to improve education system at grassroots level, he said.
The Minister inspected the under construction building of the OBC Boys Hostel at Moirangpurel which is being constructed under the central assistance.
Initially, the hostel had a capacity of just 100 students.
Assistance from his side was contributed to accommodate additional 300 students, he said.
The Minister also laid a foundation stone for the construction of Tulihal Mayai Lekai Primary School at Yairipok Tulihal.
He assured the people that the school will be completed by February next year.
A centrally funded model residential school is being constructed at Moirangpurel, he said.
Shyamkumar also inspected the newly constructed building of the Primary Health Centre Nongpok Keithelmanbi.
He said that the building will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh on a later date.
PHC Nongpok Keithelmanbi was constructed under fund from the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.
The PHC will be of great service to the people of Nongpok Keithelmanbi and adjoining areas, he said and wished peace and prosperity on the occasion of Diwali and Ningol Chakkouba.
