N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo : X Polo to clash with Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A in final showdown

Imphal, November 07 2018: X Polo Club will lock horns with Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A on November 11 at 1 pm for the ultimate title of the 34th N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament, 2018 which is underway under the auspices of Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung since October 22.X Polo Club outlasted MPSC-B by 6-5 margin in a closely contested semi-final match of the tournament while Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A managed a close 4-3 win in another similar semifinal contest.

Th Jacob gave X Polo Club a 1-0 lead in the first chukker before scoring adding another in the second chukker.

L Atangba also made his way to chip in one goal in the second chukker for X Polo Club while T Pradeepkumar pulled back a goal to make it 3-1 at the end of the second chukker.

K Yogendra and P Ojit of X Polo Club also registered their names on the scoresheet striking one goal each in the third chukker against a single scored by Kh Nongpoknganba and extended the lead to 5-2 .

Jacob then hit a single to complete the scoring for X Polo Club in the fourth chukker , which saw MPSC-B make a strong return.

T Pradeepkumar hit a single to give MPSC-B a fresh hope.

Kh Nongpoknganba also hit two goals and makes it 5-6 but their return proved too late as time ticked away quickly favouring X Polo Club.

In the second semi-final match, Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A had a slender 2-1 lead in the first chukker with goals added by A Basanta and Th Kaoba.

MPSC-A' single in this chukker was added by H Abung Khuman.

The third chukker saw A Basanta hit second to extend the lead to 3-1 before adding another in the last chukker.

MPSC-A fought back in the last chukker but failed to turn the table as they could manage only two goals, one each by T Roshan and S Abungcha.
