Ukhrul, August 07, 2012:
On account of the absence of regular principal in the lone Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) school in Ukhrul district, career of the total strength of four hundred students have been put in jeopardy.
In a press communique held at TLL office today, the Parents Support Group (PSG) informed the Ukhrul District Journalist Association (UDJA) that since the establish of the institution in 2007 there was no Principal in Ukhrul KVS school which has deeply hampered development of the institution and the impact has now been greatly reflected to the students.
PSG Co-Convenor Wonthing A.Shimrayna said that during the year 2009 the KVS institution witnessed some healthy growth.
But whatever progress it achieved slowed down soon after due to the absence of the Principal.
Ukhrul KVS was established in the year 2007 but since its inception there was no Principal and lack of teachers has profoundly affected the over 400 students and anybody could envision that the institution or school which has no Principal could not be developed under any circumstances added PSG executive Dr.Lucy Shaiza.
PSG Secretary R.A.Cannan stated that the parents/guardians association has been closely analysing and monitoring the development and the association has approached and urged the concerned KVS Chairman Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner Sudhan R.IAS three times, the last one in May 2012 during which a memorandum was also submitted.
The memorandum submitted by the PSG contained three demands which were appointment of a regular Principal, computer classes for students and regular power supply and construction of KVS infrastructure at the earliest .
In India there are 980 KVS schools all over the country and Ukhrul KVS is one of them and each school has 40 students in each class.
Likewise Ukhrul KVS also has Classes from I to X with the total strength of 400 students.
Computer Class for the students remain totally cut off since 2009 said Awin Zingkhai.
Ukhrul KVS have no teachers for computer, Hindi and Upper Primary Science.
Saying that Ukhrul KVS had no exchange activities since the year 2010, the PSG asserted that all these irregularities occurred due to absence of regular Principal.
PSG further said that construction of new building for the institution at Suklui, Meizailung, Ukhrul has been delayed due to non release of final bill by HRD Ministry.
