Jayantakumar inaugurates free medical camp

As part of the ongoing 5th Singju Festival, a free medical camp was held today at Wangjing Kodompokpi Ground under Thoubal District.
The free medical camp organised by Singju Yokhat Lup (SYOL) in association with District Health Society Thoubal was inaugurated by Health Minister L Jayantakumar.
At the event, Jayantakumar said that due to the joint effort of the public and the Government, the health sector of Manipur has been recognised as one of the best in the country.
Speaking about the ill effects of consuming non-organic food on one's health, the Minister said that using insecticide and pesticide in agricultural practise for faster and abundant growth can cause a number of severe health problems and illnesses.
Saying that preparation of a proposal to establish medical colleges at Thoubal, Chandel and Churcahandpur is almost complete, the Minister sought cooperation from the public to implement the project soon.
Doctors of District Society Thoubal attended altogether 100 locals and provided medicines at free of cost while the brand ambassador of the festival, Mayanglambam Diana assisted the elders who came for treatment.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Thoubal, Dr N Jayantakumar; DRDA Chairman cum Thoubal Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha, Hasina Begum; Singju Festival 2020 convenor, Laimujam Pratap and District Health Society Thoubal DPM, Ch Basanta also attended the inaugural ceremony of the camp.
