Sadar Hills Kuki CSOs call off strike

Kuki Civil Society Organisations (CSO) under the banner of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills have decided to call off its proposed 48-hour total strike which was to be begun from midnight of May 30 in the entire Sadar Hills area under Senapati district.
The decision was taken by organisations after holding a marathon meeting with the State Government on May 27 .
The Kuki civil bodies including Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills under the leadership of Kuki Inpi Manipur had a marathon meeting on Thursday at Chief Minister's office where the State Government was represented by CM O Ibobi, Deputy CM Gaikhangam, IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip and Saikul AC MLA Yamthong Haokip, said a spokesperson of Sadar Hills civil society organisations on Thursday.
Thangkam Lupheng, spokesperson of Sadar Hills Kuki CSOs said that after a settlement which was brought under the Kuki customary law in the talks with the Government, the body of Paokholen Khongsai, the church secretary of B Gamnom village secretary, was taken from the JNIMS mortuary on Friday at around 11 am.
Hence, the Kuki civil bodies of Sadar Hills under the banner of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills have decided to call off the proposed 48-hour Sadar Hills total strike, added the spokesperson.
Mention may be made that Sadar Hills-based CSOs under the banner of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills including KISG, KWU, KWOHR, KSO, TSA and other local bodies had called for the strike in the entire Sadar Hills over the alleged failure of the State Government to fulfill their demands in connection with the B Gamnom killing of May 23 .
