The one day HIV/AIDS workshop sponsored by Rural Institute for Community Health and Development, Gadailong, Tamenglong was held on August 27 at Khumji (Lukhambi) Bazar with Longmai (Noney) village chief G Pouthaogai as the chief guest.
As resource persons, Dr David Gangmei, DSSS Project manager Warson and RICHD field animator Anthony Panmei briefed the gathering on varied issues related to the subject.
Meanwhile, New Generation, RIMS road in collaboration with Tousem Village Authority, Tamenglong organised medical camps at Faklong, Tousem Khunou, Old Mandu, new Mandu and Tousem Khullen on August 26 and 27.The medical camps in which over 700 villagers were treated and provided medicines free of cost were conducted under the supervision of seven doctors of the Manipur Health Services, three State Malaria specialists, same number of MSRAM representatives and New General volunteers.
Expressing gratitude to the district administration, village elders and Family Welfare officials for their assistance and cooperation in smooth conduct of the camp, New Generation, in a press release also conveyed of the villagers prevailing upon the State authorities to provide adequate health and educational infrastructure at the earliest.
Khengjoi block: The three day free medical camp organised by Kuki Students' Organisation Khengjoi Block concluded on August 20.Over 500 patients of nearby villages were treated during the course of the camp.
