Bandh eased

The bandh which was imposed in protest against the road accident at Jakhama, Nagaland on January 15 night has been suspended following an understanding arrived between the bandh supporters and All Manipur Road Transport and Motor Workers' Union (AMRTMWU) .
Speaking to The Sangai Express, AMRTMWU Secretary Kulamani said, the understanding was arrived at a meeting attended by the representatives of the union and Southern Angami Students' Association, Eco Environment Welfare Association, Kohima, village chiefs and police today.
The union assured the bandh supporters to bear medical expenses of the two injured persons and do the needful for the deceased person according to the customary law.
On the otherhand, Manipur Government entrusted Mao A/C MLA Dikho to settle the issue after having consultations with Nagaland Government and people of the area.
