The fire that was detected at around 7 am quickly went out of control and shattered the old-wooden building that housed two shops.
Despite the efforts put-up by local residents, marketgoers and the fire brigade to control the inferno, nothing worthy, except for the little merchandise could be saved from it.
Piles of merchandise, mostly imported from Myanmar were scattered along the narrow lane where the inferno had ripped it through due to the panic evacuation.
Food stalls located along the Bus parking which was a backyard for the building that caught the fire too made hasty evacuation fearing the fire could spread.
Some women vendors, rendered helpless were seen kneeling on their knees amidst the chaotic scene and praying.
Luckily enough, the wooden structure was interwoven by concrete structure on all three sides and that save the inferno from causing further destruction.
