Imphal, January 14, 2012:
Accusing Nehkhothang Haokip alias DN Haokip and Chungjalin alias Lenpu Haokip of working against the Kuki community, the UKLF has asked the duo to stop their anti-people activities immediately and also to tender an apology to the people.
Speaking to media persons at their Camp Nazareth at Chandel today,UKLFs information and publicity secretary NC Brolin Baite clarified that DN Haokips allegation about abduction of his son by UKLF cadres on January 12 was baseless.
He alleged that DN Haokip collected a huge amount of money from the people after setting up Chin Kuki Resistance Force (CKRF).
Later, he took charge of the president of Chandel district Kuki chiefs association after which he sold out the associations plot located at Moreh.
Then after resigning from the post of president, DN Haokip swindled a huge amount of NREGS fund in the name of some 60/70 fictitious villages.
Taking strong exception to his self-centred and anti-people activities, the UKLF called Nehkhothang Haokip alias DN Haokip to clarify himself but he did not turn up.
NREGS fund for Khullen Khailet village was also withdrawn by DN Haokip in the name of CKRF.
DN Haokip's son which he claimed to have been abducted by the UKLFwas staying in DC office and no FIR was lodged with police, Brolin Baite said.
UKLF firmly believes that people should be allowed to elect candidates of their own choice in free and fair manner.
Moreover, the UKLF never asked DN Haokip not to fight elections or withdraw his nomination papers.
The allegations made by DN Haokip in his complaint filed to the Chief Electoral Officer were all baseless and fabricated, Brolin asserted.
Saying that Chungjalen alias Lenpu Haokip is a founder of the KNLF, Brolin claimed that Lenpu Haokip was responsible for maiming many innocent people by laying landmines in the interior areas of Chandel district.
Guided by his intention to run the KNLF at his ownwhim, Lenpu Haopu called up his younger brother Lalmoi Haokip who was then working in an NGO and made Lalmoi general secretary of the KNLF.
In case DN Haokip and Lenpu Haokip do not stop their anti-people activities immediately and tender an apology to the UKLF, the outfit would take up befitting action against them, Brolin said.
