Senapati, June 11 2021:
The Naga People's Organisation has reiterated that it had never recognised the creation of Kangpokpi district adding that there is no officially demarcated district boundary for Kangpkpi adding indigenous land owners should be consulted with anything concerning land and its records, said NPO' .
The NPO made this point clear in connection with a statement issued by the Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills on June 8, which had asked all land related works and procedures including all Asian Highway expansion works be put on hold, until all land records of Kangpokpi within the jursidction to Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council are transferred to Kangpokpi.
The Govt's order of June 15, 2013 to transfer all land records to respective district is a new thing to NPO, it said and added that it will oppose such transfer.
Indigenous land owners should be consulted with anything concerning land and its records, said NPO and added that it will be wise on the part of the Govt to take into confidence all the stakeholders to avoid unwanted consequences in future.
The NPO also urged the State Govt not to take any hasty decision in this regard.
