Imphal, December 02 2020:
The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has appealed the authority of Manipur University of Culture to ensure that the careers of students from JN Dance Academy, Government Music College and Government Dance College seeking admission for MA courses to the university are not wasted.
Addressing media persons at DESAM's office at Kwakeithel Bazar, its president N Edison stated that the contention on the eligibility criteria for admission to MUC was unanticipated.
As opposing viewpoints are on the rise the university authority is unable to take a stand on the issue, he said while appealing MUC authority to lead in settling the conflict and bring an amicable solution.
Even if there is technical issue in inducting students with diploma courses issued by the JN Dance Academy, Government Music College and Government Dance College, MUC authorities must introduce 'Bridge Course' or 'Lateral Course' to ensure the career of the students from the said institutes are nopt compromised.
It may be noted that MUC Students' Union has been resenting admission of students with diploma certificates issued by the three institutions citing that the certificates are not recognised by UGC.
Meanwhile, the authorities of these three institutes have been insisting to allow admission of the students for the Master courses at MUC since MUC is also run under State Government's funding.
