Imphal, December 27 2021:
All Manipur VDF Welfare Association has warned of stringent forms of agitation from January 4, 2022 if the Government fails to fulfil the long pending demands of VDF by January 3 .
The demands of VDF include service protection which is to take appropriate actions accordingly after conducting an enquiry instead of disengaging them immediately, to reward them for their good conduct, to provide them with 13 months pay, to form a seniority list among others, said a press release by the association.
As promised by the Chief Minister on the 12th Raising Day of VDF on March 6, 2021 to fulfil their demands, a memorandum has been submitted on April 21 this year, however the same has not been actualised till date due to many hindrances in the official process.
Considering the plights of the VDF, the Central Committee All Manipur VDF Welfare Association representing the 10050 VDF of the State has urged the Government to discuss the matter in the State Cabinet and take a decision accordingly before January 3.If the Government fails to heed their demands before the set date, the association warned of stringent agitation which will be taken up in accordance with the VDF Welfare Associations of 16 districts and the Government will be held responsible for any unwanted outcome.
