Road safety awareness bike rally held

Senapati, February 11 2021:
In continuation of the Road Safety Month, 2021 (Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha), a Road Safety Awareness Bike Rally was organized at Senapati by the Senapati District Police in collaboration with the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) and Royal Brothers, Senapati.
The bike rally was organised to spread awareness on the importance of wearing a helmet.
ML Kaisungbou, MPS, Additional SP briefed the participants at Karong Bazar about the Road Safety Month, conducted from January 18 to February 17 every year.
M Pradip Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police Senapati, flagged off the bike rally that went to Taphou Liangmei and back to Traffic Point, Senapati.
A short gathering was also held at Traffic Point, Senapati.
Addressing the gathering, DC Senapati Th Kirankumar, expressed his appreciation to the bikers for turning up to participate in the rally to create awareness on the Road Safety Month, 2021.He stated that while the importance of roads in bringing development is irrefutable, the condition and quality of the road should be given precedence to avoid the needless loss of lives due to road accidents.
Proper knowledge of road safety is vital to minimize such accidents.
Road Safety Month is therefore observed all over the world to generate awareness on road safety.
Th Kirankumar further urged the people to wear helmets to avoid accidents not just as a part of the Road Safety Month but as a habit to be followed whenever they ride a vehicle.
Pung Mark, president Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) also urged the gathering to be responsible citizens and spread awareness on road safety.
Later, the road safety pledge was taken by all the participants.
More than 50 bikers from the Royal Brothers, Senapati and police bikers took part in the rally.
