YWHO condemns assault of girl at Langpok Mayai Leikai

Imphal, April 20 2012:
The Young Women's Help Organisation has vehemently condemned the assault of Thokchom Ranjana of Langpok Mayai Leikai Lai Lam Thokpham, Thoubal district by one Thokchom Bumeshore of the same locality.
Ranjana (17) has been treated at Shija Hospital after she fainted following threats and assault by Bhumeshore on April 17 last.
On that day Bumeshore stormed into the house of Ranjana d/o Th Iboyaima searching for her father.
He told her harshly that he would kill her father with a bullet.
When she tried to cool down, he raspingly hit the door with a spade.
Following an altercation, he had beaten her up and threatened her to hit with the spade.
Ranjana fainted at the moment and she was rushed to RIMS for treatment.
As her condition improved, she was brought back home the same evening.
Later in the night, Bumeshore appeared again at the house of Ranjana with a dagger in his hand.
Seeing him, Ranjana fainted again and was brought immediately to Shija Hospital where she has been treated till date.
Addressing media persons today at its office, General Secretary of Young Women's Held Organisation, A Robita expressed strong resentment over the assault and threat of the girl.
She appealed all concerned not to cause such happenings in future.
A case has also been filed with the police by the father of Ranjana.
