Students to boycott exam

Thoubal College Students' Union and AMSU Thoubal District Committee have said that the bodies will boycott semester examinations of BA/BSc which will commence from December 4 if their demand is not fulfilled.
The decision was taken by the two bodies against exclusion of 28 students of the college from filling up of forms for the semester examinations to be conducted by the Manipur University.
Speaking at a press conferece held at the office of AMSU Thoubal District Committee, Thoubal College Students' Union secretary said, Thokchom Sushilkumar said that Lab Attendant of Chemistry Department, Leimapokpam Somorjit promised the students to submit examinations forms on the last date of form submission fixed by the Manipur University.
Somorjit took their respective forms and necessary fees from these students on the said day.
However, when they enquired about their admit cards, he told them that he could not submit the forms in time.
The Principal of the college has also not taken up any step to save the academic career of these students, he added.
The college students union along with AMSU Thoubal District Committee would boycott the exam if the authority concerned does not take up any step to permit these students to appear in the ensuing examination.
