18th State Level Youth Festival kicks off

The 18th State Level Youth Festival organized by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur kick-started from today with much fanfare at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex here.
The inaugural function was graced by K Tombi, Adhyaksha of Imphal East and chairman of DRDA as Chief Guest; Kh Pramoda Devi, Joint Director of Youth Affairs and Sports as President while P Sunder Singh, Zilla Parishad Member and chairman of standing committee, Agri Industry; Md Badur Rehman, Zilla Parishad Member and L Ibotombi Singh, CO 2nd IRB as Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the function, K Tombi stated that youths have been playing a major role in building the nation whether it is in the field of art and culture, sports or any other fields and that the youth festival is being organized to provide a platform for them to showcase their talents and compete against each other.
He informed that selected winners from the festival would represent the State at the national level.
Around 500 youths from different parts of the state are participating in the festival which will go on for three days.
