Bridge courses kick-off

Taking serious note on the deteriorating educational quality in the interior villages of the district, Siamsinpawlpi Ghqtrs under the funding of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme commenced residential bridge course in Singngat and Thanlon sub-divisions of the district since June 16 .
More than hundred students were enrolled in the Integrated Residential Coaching Camp organized for imparting the bridge courses in Thanlon's Sinzawl village.
Mathematics Science and English, where most interior students need additional assistance were the focus of the bridge courses.
For Singngat, the camp was organized at Lungthul village with an enrolment of fifty students.
Text and exercise books, among other educational gears were provided to the students free of cost.
Five voluntary educators, eight teachers and two batches of Siamsinpawlpi executive members were trying their bid to elate the knowledge banks in both the camps.
A statement issued by SSPP Ghq project co-ordinator said, its second batches of instructors were due to depart in the next two three days while additional batches to replace advance batches will continue to depart till the first week of July.
Hailing the concern department, local MLAs, village chief and volunteers for their contribution, the student organisation's statement said their selfless deeds will go a long way in boosting the spirit of otherwise educationally shattered student community there.
