Imphal, December 22 2018:
BJP Manipur State Unit has claimed that the Congress party has been telling 100 lies in their attempt to cover up their false allegation regarding the Rafale scam thus confusing the people.
Speaking to media persons at BJP State Unit office at Canchipur today, its spokesperson Ch Bijoy claimed that the recent statements made by Congress Working Committee (CWC) Member Gaurav during his visit to the State, were all lies fabricated by the Congress to save its own skin.
Pointing out that it has been quite some time since the Opposition party has been accusing the BJP Government of corruption in connection with the Rafale deal, Bijoy said that BJP and the Government have repeatedly clarified regarding the matter but the Congress party has been adamant with its demand thus leading to confusion among the people.
The Congress party, being jealous of the transparent and corruption free as well as scandal free rule of the BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is trying to taint the party's clean image with lies and fabricated claims, he alleged.
Bijoy continued that the Congress party, ever since 1947, has been rocked constantly with corruption scandals and alleged that the Opposition party is a scandal riddled party which is not fit to rule the country.
Asking the Congress party why the investigation of Rafale deal need to be handed over to the Joint Parliamentary Committee, the BJP spokesperson questioned what major scams and issues of the country have been solved by the JPC till date.
He also claimed that the Congress wants to keep the investigation of the Rafale deal pending after it is handed to the JPC so that the party can bring it up in every election period.
On the other hand, BJP State Unit general secretary (organisation) N Nimbus said that the BJP Government successfully bought 36 Rafale jets from France although the previous Congress Government failed to do so.
He then reasoned that debating about the Rafale fighter jets in the public domain is akin to providing an opportunity to the enemies to observe the security details of the country.
The Congress party, in their pursuit for political advantage, has zero regards for the country's defense, he alleged.
