Joint Students Co-ordination Committee (JSCC) has said that admission of students in Class I and II in different Catholic schools of Imphal area would be done through draw of lots only.
Speaking to reporters, JSCC member Thiyam Naresh said that an understanding in this regard has been arrived at between JSCC and Catholic Educational Society, Manipur (CESM) on February 13 last.
He said that different student bodies have been demanding the authorities of Nirmalabas High School, St Joseph School, Little Flower School and Catholic School, Canchipur to admit students in Class I and II through draw of lots only.
Urging the school authorities not to concede to the pressures which come from any quarter, Naresh requested that the lottery be conducted transparently.
He said that JSCC would extend full support to CESM in fighting the attempts of back door entry.
Regarding Class X and XII examinations, he said that with the permission from Board of Secondary Education, Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, JSCC would also send flying squads to the examination centres to check use of unfair means.
He urged the teachers, students and local people to extend cooperation in conducting these examinations in free and fair manner and to bring quality education.
Naresh also urged all concerned to avoid any misunderstanding among flying squads, police and local people.
He also extended best wishes to all the students appearing for the Class X and Class XII examinations.
