Remark on Sanskrit as subject lands MSAD members in police net

Imphal, December 10 2020:
State police arrested two executive members of MSAD (Manipur Students' Association Delhi) including its general secretary from Delhi and brought them to Imphal today.
MSAD general secretary Singhajit Thokchom and organisation secretary Kennedy Moirangthem were arrested on December 8 at around 7 pm from Delhi in connection with a statement MSAD released against proposal to introduce Sanskrit as a subject in select schools and colleges in Manipur.
An FIR was registered against them following police complaint filed by Prant Mantri Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Manipur, All Manipur Dharma Raksha Samiti, All Manipur Brahman Organisation and Dhrama Rakshak Sangh, said sources.
Executive members of MSAD had held a talk with the Imphal Police on November 20 regarding the statement they released and subsequently MSAD had released another statement on November 30 clarifying about its previous statement, added the sources.
After their arrests, they were produced in Patiala Court.
The police team with the two MSAD executive members reached Imphal airport today evening.
