No official Covid deaths in last 24 hours

Imphal, December 10 2020:
For the first time after several weeks, there was no official report of COVID-19 deaths in the State during the last 24 hours even though 151 fresh positive cases were detected.
The last time Manipur saw no official death due to COVID-19 was November 19 .
However, information received from Shija Hospital said that a 76-year old woman from Imphal West died at the hospital at around 4 am today.
But the woman's death has not yet been accounted in the official tally maintained by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, just like the other two deaths at Shija-the death of an Army Colonel and a 42 year old man from Imphal West some time back.
As such, the official death toll stands at 318 .
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 116 civilians and 35 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours.
The fresh positive cases were detected at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Samaritan Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Advance Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Imphal Hospital, RD Wing, Raj Medicity, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Senapati, Tengnoupal, Jiribam and Babina Diagnostics.
The civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (41), Imphal East (32), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (13), Ukhrul (6), Tengnoupal (3), Chandel (1), Kangpokpi (1), Senapati (2), Jiribam (2) and Churachandpur (7) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 96 COVID-19 positive patients were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (63), RIMS (3), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (2), CCC UNACCO (2), RD Wing (3), Shija Hospital (8), JNV Chandel (1), Kakching (8), Bal Bhavan (1), Bishnupur (2), Tamenglong (1) and Noney (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 26,685 (general population 23,445 and Central security personnel 3,240) .
This figure includes 2,970 active cases (general population 2,660 and Central security personnel 310) and 23,397 discharged'cases (general population 20,471 and Central security personnel 2,926).The recovery rate is 87.67 per cent.
