Red Shield arrests UG cadres

Imphal, July 27 2014 : Troops of Red Shield Division apprehended Commander-inChief of UTLA with his bodyguard from Chieng kongpan, Churachandpur on July 25 .

Based on the specific input regarding the presence of UTLA cadres at the area troops of Red Shield Division immediately launched an operation.

The troops raided the suspected house with two police representatives and two lady constables of Ccpur Police station resulting to the arrest of Commander-in-Chief of UTLA, Seipu alias Ishael along with his bodyguard.

Both the cadres are residents of Churachandpur district.

One Rifle 5.56mm Heckler and Koch-33, one .22 mm pistol (Regd No 060/PIS/JOD) of make Star Becheverria Eibar Espana, one magazine Heckler and Koch, one magazine .22 mm of pistol make Star Becheverria Eibar Espana, 30 live rounds Hechler and Koch-33, 31 live rounds of 7.62mm AK-47, four live rounds of .22mm pistol make Star Becheverria Eibar Espana, one night vision binocular Bushnell (Regd No 004827141), two mobile phones, four SIM cards, three pairs of combat dresses and one combat shirt were recovered from their possession.

Both of them were handed over to Imphal Police Station, said a press release issued by PIB (DW) .

In another incident, based on a specific intelligence input regarding the movement of a UG cadres, troops of the 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) established a vehicle check post at Murei Junction, Sabungkhok Khunjao and apprehended one PREPAK (VC) cadre.

The suspicious red colour Activa (MN 01Z-1476) was stopped for checking resulting in the apprehension of the UG cadre identified as No 4101 (Batch No 27) Wangeheirakpam Nandi alias Gogo, s/o Late Chandramani (29) of Sekta Loushangkhong village in Imphal East district.

The apprehendee was handed over to the Lamlai Police Station.

In another incident, troops of 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) arrested four persons with explosives while checking two trucks (NL 07A - 4331 and NL 01K - 0551) travelling from Dimapur to Ukhrul via Jessami yesterday at Chorzang Hamlet.

The recovered items included three unidentified explosive materials (each 300 gms approx) and three spools of Cordtex (each of approx 200 m length) .

The apprehendees have been identified as Dolay Chetry S/o Late Gobind Chetry (39) of Island Colony Comma Naga Cemetery, Dimapur, Bikash Thapa S/o Late Ratna Bahadur Thapa (29) of Gorial Dubi, Bokajan, Assam, Deepak Sunar S/o Bir Bahadur BK (19) of Dhobi Nala, Dimapur and Arjun Thapa S/o Ram Bahadur Thapa (15) of Teacher Basti, Ram Bahadur Basti, Karbianglong, Assam.

Along with the recovered items, they were handed over to Ukhrul Police Station.

In yet another incident, troops of 20 Assam Rifles and 6 DOGRA of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) arrested an over ground worker of KCP from Pallel yesterday.

He has been identified as Ramesh Singh alias James (38), S/o Late Joy Kumar Singh of Pallel Bazar.

Extortion note of Rs 10 lakh of KCP (MTF) and a diary containing names and amount collected from the locals were recovered from the individual's possession.

The apprehendee along with the recovered items were been handed over to Kakching Police Station, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .

In another incident, A team of Imphal East district police commando unit has arrested an active member of KYKL from Khongman Okram Chuthek Jubraj Palli Machin yesterday.

He is identified as Thingujam Angouba Singh (27) S/o Th Shyamo Singh of Singjamei Kshetri Leikai, Chingamakhong Leirak.

One pistol alongwith two loaded rounds were seized from his possession on his disclosure.

On follow up action, another active member of KYKL identified as RK Diamond Singh (26) S/o RK Gambhir Singh of Singjamei Kshetri Leikai Thiyam Leirak was also arrested from his residence on the same day.

A case has been registered at Irilbung police station and further investigation is underway.

In another incident, a combined team of Thoubal district commando unit and 2 AR conducted frisking and checking operation at Tentha area on a reliable information.

In the checking, three active cadres of KYKL were arrested.

They were identified as Moirangthem Nabachandra alias Nabachandra (40) S/o M Tombi Singh of Tentha Khongbal Makha Leikai, Moirangthem Tombiyai alias Tombi Singh (46) S/o M Ibopishak Singh of Tentha Heibung Mamang Leikai and Phuritsabam Inaobi alias Inaobi Singh(53) S/o Ph Ibohal Singh of Tentha Khongbal Mayai Leikai.

One mobile handset each were seized from their possession.

A case has been registered at Thoubal Police Station and further investigation is underway.
