Imphal, August 21 2016:
A public meeting was held today at Singjamei Thokchom Leikai today on the alleged swindling of Rs 3.5 lakh by Law Minister I Hemochandra in the name of ground development work of Eigya Ibohal Mandop.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Mandop, Y Khemchand asked as to who did the ground development work of the Mandop.
People gathered at the meeting said that the Mandop was repaired by one Bimol out of his own pocket.
While the development work of the Mandop was done by Bimol out of his own money, local MLA and Minister I Hemochandra took Rs 3.5 lakh from his MLA Local Area Development Fund claiming that he did the development work, Khemchand said.
Information sought through RTI Act revealed that the Minister swindled public funds in the name of different development projects without executing any work, Khemchand said.
Claiming that there would be a BJP Government in the State after the Assembly election, Khemchand said that the Parliamentary board would decide on who would be given the party's tickets.
He said that he would contest the forthcoming Assembly election if he is given BJP ticket.
"In case, I don't get BJP, I would lead the election campaign", he asserted.
