Farmers' training held

Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Imphal has organised a one day farmers' training programme on "Nutrients Management of Vegetable Crops" at the conference hall of the Cooperative Management, Lamphelpat yesterday.
The inaugural function was graced by Th Ranbir Singh, District Agriculture Officer, Imphal East, Y Shyam Singh, Project Director, ATMA, Imphal and K Joychandra Singh, Director, ICM, Lamphelpat as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, Th Ranbir Singh stressed on the need to take up measures so as to retain soil fertility.
He also urged the farmers to plant seasonal crops in order to generate more income.
ATMA Project Director Y Shyam Singh asserted that farmers should consult with the experts on how to increase the crop production to meet the requirements of the people.
K Joykisan emphasised on the importance of modern farming technology to increase production.
The training programme was participated by more than 50 farmers.
