The unidentified youth who was found dead after a fierce encounter between suspected UGs and CRPF personnel at Wangoo Laipham Khunou Thongkhong on September 11 turned out to be a civilian, said sources.
The victim's body which had been lying at RIMS for the past few days was identified by family members who came to RIMS morgue today.
The victim has been identified as one Takhellambam Brojen (22) of Wangoo Tera Lupa Marup.
According to family members, Borjen had been missing after he went out to see a video film on the night of September 11 at around 8.Brojen is survived by a seven month pregnant wife.
The victim's body was handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.
Meanwhile, the identity of the youth killed during a gun battle between two separate UG groups at Thawai Village under Litan PS on September 12 was established today.
The victim has been identified as Lalchong Chongloi (23) s/o Tong-khou Chongloi of Singhat Sub Div Churachandpur Dist.
Sent to jail: The four persons arrested by the police in connection with vandalising the house of Oinam Gyanendro of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, whose wife was found hung to death in a suspicious manner from a beam on the first floor of the house have been send to Sajiwa Jail today.
The four persons identified as Waribam Babu alias Kachu Renand (28) of Lairikyangbam Leikai, Sagolsem Jiten alias Aboi (21) of Laipham Khunou, Maibam Okendro alias Khogen (22) of Laipham Khunou and Wakambam Dineshor (19) of Laipham Khunou were produced in the Court of CJM and were remanded to judicial custody till September 28.Scooterist killed: A scooterist was killed when the NV scooter he was driving collided with a Yamaha motor cycle at Ushoipokpi under Lilong police station yesterday at about 5.30 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Md Akbar (25) of Chingakham Makha Leikai.
Hospital sources said he passed away at JN hospital yesterday at about 10.30 pm.
The motor cyclist is identified as Md Yunus (27) and he has been admitted to JN hospital.
