Imphal, July 14 2011:
Reacting against the government's policy to hand over the administration of elementary schools in the hill districts of the state to the District Council, the All Manipur Hill Teachers' Association said that they will not agree with the decision.
In a press release, AMHTA stated that the policy of the state government to sack the administration of education system of hill districts from the Department of Education (S) is an act of an irresponsible government and demanded the cancel of the order regarding the policy at the earliest.
It further stated that the association will also stand against the changing of SMDC to SMC and appointing elected ADC member as its chairman.
It also reacted against the decision of joint operation of bank accounts of the schools by their respective headmasters and Executive Director of DRDA.
If the state government does not cancel its orders regarding elementary school education in the hill districts of the state, the association will be forced to take up stern steps against the decision of the government, it added.
