National Vice Chairman of the Popular Front of India, A Sayeed today said that by a deceitful government of the country, Muslims across the country were kept down throttled with a seperate look.
Speaking at a function to mark the ending of the campaign programme of the Muslim Reservation across the country held at Community Hall at Major Khul today, Sayeed said that by the campaign for Muslim Reservation was started launching from January 31 last.
The Popular Front of India, Manipur State organised the public meeting in which a reolution which would be submitted to government was drafted.
Vice-chairman Sayeed speaking on the occasion said that a report of the national committee to look into the condition of the Muslims in the country in 1983 had observed backwardness of Muslims among other communities in India.
The committee recommended giving more priority to the community for upliftment of their status in the society.
Based on the report, the PFI has been pressing the government for reservation for the Muslims.
The campaign demanded reservation of seats for the Muslims in the educational institutions, job appointments in the state and Central government establishments.
