Jiri students warn

Urging the Education Minister to fill the manpower and infrastructure shortage at Jiribam Higher Secondary School within August 12, Students' Union of the school has warned of launching agitation if the demands were not met immediately.
Jiribam Higher Secondary School Students' Union has submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Education Minister.
Speaking to news persons today at the Students' Union hall of Jiri Hr Sec School, general secretary of the union, YM Kabir said two of the teaching staff in the Commerce stream have been absent since long time back.
As such, the students of the school, especially Commerce students had to suffer in their absence though the void was some how filled with the engagement of a local teacher by the principal.
He further said that a teacher of English and one teacher of Engineering and Drawing have also been found to be absent for long while demanding action against the irregular teachers.
Stating that the school has around 1000 students, Kabir said the existing infrastructure �rooms and furniture, is inadequate for the smooth functioning of the school.
He said the students' union of the school, in association with Jiri units of AMSU, MSF, DESAM and KSA would launch agitation if the demand to fill the shortage infrastructure and manpower are not fulfilled before August 12. The press meet was attended by leaders and representatives of AMSU, MSF, DESAM, and KSA units of Jiribam.
The student leaders also conveyed the desire that the Education Minister pays a surprise visit by the Education Minister at Jiribam.
