Killing of PHED care taker and son: Houses of accused dismantled, torched

Houses of the four individuals who have been taken into police custody in connection with the murder of Irilbung Water Supply Plant care-taker Soram Ibomcha and his son Yaiphu have been dismantled while the house of the suspected king-pin in the double murder who is now absconding have been set ablaze by a mob today.
A large crowd of Sandrok who were anguished by the ruthless double murder assembled this morning and attacked the houses.
The crowd dismantled the houses of Takhellambam Jiban (38), Takhellambam Shakhenba (26) and Landham Radhabinod (28), all belonging to Sandrok Mamang Leikai and Keisham Tenden alias Roshan (27) of Sandrok Awang Leikai.

The infuriated mob then set ablaze the house of Takhellembam Romi alias Romeo alias Kiran (28) of Sandrok Mamang Leikai who is suspected to be the king-pin in the double murder.
Later, a public meeting was held at Sandrok and resolved that the killers should be awarded exemplary punishment.
Soram Ibomcha and Yaipu were abducted in the night of December 7 and they were found shot dead at Lemba Khul in the morning of December 16 .
The four individuals whose houses were destroyed today surrendered to Imphal East District Police last week.
The meeting further resolved to banish family members of the suspected murderers from their respective localities.
