Election Observers to arrive in state in phase wise manner from Janurary 4

The Election Observers of the Election Commission of India would start arriving in the state from January 4 in a phase-wise manner in connection with the 10th Manipur State Legislative Assembly elections slated to be held on January 28, 2012 .
According to a reliable source, a team of officials from Election Commission of India (ECI) will be visiting the State on January 4, 2012.After their arrival, the Election Observers will also follow suit in a phase- wise manner.
As such the vehicles required for their transportation have been already arranged by the State Election office.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to be used in the election would be tested by the respective District Election Officers (DEO) .
According to a press statement issued by DEO, Thoubal, the EVMs will be checked on January 2 and 3 .
The checking of the EVMs in 47-Karong, 48- Mao and 49- Tadubi under Senapati district will be done on January 4 at the conference hall of DRDA, according to a statement released by Senapati district DEO.
An order issued by the DEO, Senapati today has informed that the Media Certification on Monitoring Committee has been formed under the instruction of CEO, Manipur with DEO, Senapati, PK Jha, District Information Officer, T Megha and Wilson Sani, stringer of DDK, Imphal as members.
The team will be monitoring the political advertisement of the candidates and the political parties.
On the other hand, the process for selection of Master Trainers of the EVMs has also been started.
After being trained, these Master Trainers in turn would train Polling personnel who will be on duty.
