DEO, Ukhrul appeals

Imphal, December 29 2011:
The District Election Officer (DEO) of Ukhrul district appealed that anybody carrying huge amount of cash in any constituency within Ukhrul district during the elections should carry proper documents to show the source and end-use of such cash in order to avoid seizure by the Flying Squad.
A notification issued by DEO Ukhrul district R Sudham mentioned that a Flying Squad have been formed under each police station to watch over distribution of cash, liquor and other items in the constituencies during the elections.
Distribution of cash, liquor or any other item for gratification of the voters is bribery and punishable offence, it added.
