Covid claims 1 more, 16 test positive

The State's Covid-19 death toll has climbed to 1999 following the death of an individual from Thoubal district during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the latest victim had co-morbidities though fully vaccinated.
Out of 1,346 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 16 were confirmed positive at RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (14) which puts the daily positivity rate at 1.2 per cent.
The 16 individuals who have been tested positive belong to Imphal East (6), Imphal West (6) and Senapati (4), informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Imphal East and Senapati logged the highest daily positivity rate at 2.3 per cent each followed by Imphal West at 1.5 per cent.
On the other hand, following recovery, 11 Covid-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (3), RIMS (5), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,685 (general population 1,21,251 and Central security personnel 4,434) This figure is inclusive of 192 active cases (general population 191 and Central security personnel 1) and 1,23,494 recovered cases (general population 1,19,066 and Central security personnel 4,428) .
The recovery rate as on Thursday is 98.26 per cent.
A total of 257 D-type oxygen cylinders and 34 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has risen to 22,85,575 (first dose 13,16,220 and second dose 9,69,355).It includes 5144 doses administered yesterday.
Till Wednesday, 56.22 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 41.41 per cent has received both the first and second dose.
