After a lull of some time, new cases touch 3 figure mark with 104

The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases rose by 104 in the State during the last 24 hours as 88 civilians and 16 CAPF personnel were tested positive at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, Lamjingba Hospital, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Little Clinic, Sielmat, Hillside Hospital, Public Hospital, Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Senapati, Chandel and Churachandpur.
This is the first time in 2021 that the number of positive cases on a single day has touched the three figure mark.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that the 88 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (36), Imphal East (28), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (2), Kangpokpi (1), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (10) and Chandel (2) .
Following recovery, 27 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (20), CAPF (1), JNIMS (1) and Shija Hospital (5).The cumulative number of positive cases is 30,151 (general population 26,643 and Central security personnel 3,508) .
It includes 590 active cases (general population 529 and Central security personnel 61) and 29,180 recovered cases (general population 25,737 and Central security personnel 3,443) .
With the total number of active cases rising continuously, the recovery rate has slipped to 96.77 per cent even though the death toll stands at 381 as there was no report of COVID related during the last 24 hours.
Nine air passengers were tested at the airport during the last 24 hours and none were found positive.
Till date 4,108 air passengers have been tested on arrival and a total of 87 have been found positive.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 20 by Indigo flight 6E-524 in rows 5-11 and April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 11-17 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
As per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 1,18,215 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State.
Further, all persons above 45 years have been advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
