Highest number of cases with 911 after May 30, 14 death recorded

Coronavirus continues to run riot in the State, with the day recording the highest new positive cases since June at 911 .
This is the second single highest day surge after May 30 when Manipur recorded 1032 new cases.
In the month of June and July alone, Manipur has recorded over 800 new cases in a single day on June 6 with 823 new cases, July 8 with 839 cases and July 9 with 852 cases.
Making things all that more uncomfortable is the report that a total of 205 persons have been found infected by the Delta variant which has higher transmissibility with higher complications till date.
Taking note of its contagiousness, the IDSP urged the people to use face mask even in family settings over and above the standard Covid Appropriate Behaviour issued earlier.
The 911 new cases were detected while testing a total of 6320 samples taking the daily positivity rate to 14.4 percent.
With the addition of 911 new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has gone up to 77,731 including 3917 Central security personnel.
The daily death count has returned to the double digit mark with 14 passing away due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
On July 10, Manipur had recorded 7 deaths.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the 14 deceased persons were from Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Churachandpur (1), Tengnoupal (2) and Kangpokpi (1) .
The 14 passed away at RIMS (1), JNIMS (4), Shija Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (2), MSF Little Flower School (3), Thoubal District Hospital (1) and Churachandpur District Hospital (1) .
The cumulative number of deaths due to the virus is now 1272 .
Out of the 911 persons who tested positive in the last 24 hours, 14 were Central security personnel.
The 897 from the general population are from Imphal East (207), Imphal West (269), Thoubal (84), Bishnupur (140), Kakching (63), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (83), Chandel (10), Senapati (6), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (2), Pherzawl (3) and Kangpokpi (14) .
The COVID-19 Common Control Room said that measures like containment and contact tracing have been put in place.
570 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (228), RIMS (18), JNIMS (7), CCCs (110) and CHICs (207) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 69,224 including 3817 Central security personnel taking the recovery rate to 89.05 percent.
Manipur today has a total of 7235 active cases including 95 from amongst the Central security personnel.
On July 10, a total of 6988 people received their vaccination shots taking the total number of people who have received their vaccines to 8,71,470 .
Out of the total, 94,268 have received their second dose.
The number of patients as one July 10 admitted/adjusted against available bed strengths in different treatment facilities in the State are RIMS (209/224), JNIMS (240/286), I Land Hospital (30/60), District Covid Facilities (141/332), MSF (22/30), Private Covid hospitals (219/360) and CCCs (1101/2906).The grand total of admitted patients is 1962 and the number of beds available is 2236, added the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
