Asserting that the Government will not spare any person/s involved in the fake appointment case in the Education Department Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh assured transparency in the investigation process while indicating of roping in services of the CBI if the probe is unsatisfactory.
Speaking to newspersons this evening at his office chamber the CM conveyed of a departmental inquiry being ordered and police department instructed to register case against 31 accused based on the probe finding.
Reiterating that transparency would be maintained at any cost during the investigation, he said the SPF Government will not hesitate in handing over the inquiry to the CBI if any doubt arise on credibility of the departmental probe.
Reflecting that Government is not sitting idle on the case, the CM, who also holds the Home portfolio, said in addition to the Departmental Inquiry matters concerning fake appointments in the Education (S) Department is being perused by the Assembly House Committee to fix responsibilities against unscrupulous elements responsible for bleeding the Department exchequer dry of several crore of rupees.
In addition to placing many employees under suspension for their involvement in fake appointment cases thorough investigation is on to detect and initiate action against many others having a role on the case, he maintained.
On KYKL unearthing the appointment scam, the CM said charges levelled by the underground outfit would have to be authenticated through intense investigation as acting on claim of UG group without proper verification would tantamount to endorsing their (KYKL) contention.
As the Government is determined to cleanse any department of corrupt element laxity in the investigation process is out of the question, affirmed the CM and added that whatever a Government ought to do SPF Government will also follow suit in punishing all guilty persons.
On completion of the House Committee probe and in consonance with relevant law necessary process would be applied to recover loss incurred by the Govt from those persons found guilty, he said.
On endeavour to lift the sagging morale of the Education Department, he said Government is keenly assessing situation to create separate Directorates from class I-VIII and from Class IX till XII besides appointment of a Director in-charge to implement Sarva Shiksa Abhiyan in the State.
Similar efforts are on to address shortage of teachers in hill district schools, continued the CM.
Reacting to President of BJP Manipur Pradesh Th Chaoba accusing the SPF Govt of all round failure Ibobi said some politicians unable to digest the fact that the current Govt had taken up various welfare schemes in the State is getting impatient.
In order to expedite development of interior areas especially in the hill districts constant touch is being established with the DONER Ministry to fund welfare projects, he said and informed of the SPF Government mulling over regularization of adhoc employees at a time.
Moreover, plans are afoot to fill up vacant posts of MPS/MCS, SDC, AE and MFS with the reactivation of the MPSC and framing of an appointment calendar on the issue, the CM said while conveying of the Cabinet decision to relax five years so as to enable qualified candidates appear in MPSC conducted examinations.
