Eastern Army Commander reviews security situation in Manipur

Imphal, January 21 2019:
Lieutenant General MM Naravane, the Eastern Army Commander arrived in Imphal today on a three day visit to review the security situation in Manipur and also along the Indo-Myanmar border.
On arrival at Tulihal airport, he was received by Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps.
Lieutenant General MM Naravane was briefed on the overall security situation in Manipur, conveyed a statement of PIB (DW) .
The General Officer expressed his Satisfaction on the operational preparedness of the field formations and complemented the troops for ensuring peace and tranquillity in the State.
The Army Commander will also visit the forward areas along Indo-Myanmar border and interact with the soldiers deployed at the forward posts.
He will also review the progress of various infrastructure projects being undertaken by Army and Assam Rifles units.
During the visit, the Eastern Army Commander will be meeting important the civil dignitaries at Imphal.
