Bidyasagar, Maheshwari win singles titles

Imphal, July 28 2024: Bidyasagar Salam (IWDBA) sealed the men's singles title while Ksh Maheshwari Devi (IEDBA) won the women's singles event of the 68th State Open Badminton Championships 2024 as the five-day-long competition concluded on Sunday.

Bidyasagar Salam beat BDBA's Hemam Malemnganba Singh 21-19, 12-21, 21-16 to win the men's singles event.

Ksh Maheshwari faced little resistance against her opponent in the women's singles final as she handed out a 21-10 21-10 thrashing to Konsam Gunjan Devi (IEDBA) for her title.

The BDBA pair of Haobijam Rohenkumar and Rajkumar Alen Singh registered a 21-19, 21-19 victory against IWDBA's Chirom Vikson Singh and Rajkumar Ronald to capture the men's doubles event crown.

In the women's doubles final, KDBA's M Somibala Devi and Naorem Purnima Devi defeated IWDBA's Chirom Bellarix Devi and Khangembam Senlina 21-13 21-14 .

On the other hand, the duo of Oinam Aimson Singh (BDBA) and M Somibala Devi (KDBA) secured the mixed doubles title, defeating IWDBA's Ningthoujam Siamond Kumar and Chirom Bellarix Devi 21-18 15-21 22-20 .
