1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament Narrow wins for AL-AMEEN, PTRC

Imphal, January 27 2018: AL-AMEEN, Lilong and PTRC, Patsoi today escaped with narrow wins against their rivals in their respective matches of the 1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament staged at Langthabal Public Ground.

In the Group D league match played today, AL-AMEEN beat BLUE HAWK, Khurai by 5 run while PTRC, Patsoi beat SCCC, Singjamei by 2 run in a Group A league match.

AL-AMEEN who won the toss and elected to bat first posted a total of 118 for 6 in 20 overs in the first match of the day.

Bashid hit 44 runs in 40 balls to emerge the man of the match followed by Mujibur scoring 23 runs off 26 balls.

Abdullah also made 15 runs in 19 balls to set the target of 119 in this inning.

BLUE HAWK could not take down all the wickets in this inning but maintained an average economy.

Rahul and Sanatomba picked 2 wickets each in 4 overs while Sandeep who was given 2 overs dismissed 1 in this inning.

In reply, BLUE HAWK went too close to the path of victory but had to give up just 5 runs away to the target.

They could gather a total of 113 runs for all wickets down in 20 overs.

The top orders could not produce a bright side and Rahul with 24 runs in 35 balls was the best the Khurai side saw today.

Lokeshor who made 21 runs in 15 balls was the second highest scorer while Ozzy contributed 10 runs in 10 balls in the chase.

Habibullah picked 3 wickets in this nail bitting inning while Safwan and Nasir claimed two each to aid their team in earning full point today.

In another similar encounter, PTRC, Patsoi held off a close challenge from SCCC, Singjamei to beat the latter by just 2 runs.

PTRC who chose to bat first put up 114 runs for 7 in 20 overs.

Nikol and Johny scored 24 runs each in this inning off 28 and 29 balls respectively while Bidas made 19 runs in 15 balls.

Sandeep and Kishan claimed two wickets each in 4 overs offering 22 runs and 21 runs in this inning.

Nanao who bowled 3 overs also had 1 wicket registered in his name.

In response, Nanao of SCCC looked promising in the beginning but the 31st delivery he faced crushed their expectations and he had to return to the pavilion making 40 runs.

Kishan also tried to pull up their team for a while but could made 30 runs off 30 balls.

Kishan could contribute only 17 runs in 20 balls.

They succumbed to 112 runs for 6 in 18 overs (2 overs deducted for late arrival) as the middle order could not maintain a regular strike rate in this inning to lose by just 2 runs.

Dipu and Pradeep of PTRC took 1 wicket each in 4 overs offering 20 runs respectively while Bidas claimed 1 offering 24 runs.

Bidas was declared man of the match for scoring 19 runs and dismissing 1 wicket in this match.

TRAU Kwakeithel will face YWC, Patsoi in a Group A league match tomorrow in the morning while YAC,Yaiskul will take on PSC, Khuyathong in another Group A league match in the evening session.
