Imphal, June 14 2025: Young karatekas from the Manipur Amateur Karate-do Association clinched one silver and one bronze medal at the ongoing KIO National Karate Championship 2025.The four-day event, being held at the Multi-Purpose Hall in Dehradun, will conclude on June 15 .

The first medal for Manipur came from Soram Lannganbi Chanu, a 10-year-old from Takhellambam Leikai, who secured the bronze in the -40kg Kumite category.

She is the daughter of Soram Chinglen Luwang and Soram Milan Leima, and is a student of Class 5 at RK Sanatombi School, Pangei.

Soram Lannganbi trains under Renshi Soibam Bindeshori Chanu at ISKF Patsoi Dojo.

Adding to the state's medal tally, Linthoi Khuraijam, aged 11, claimed silver in the girls' -45kg Kumite category.

A resident of Kiyamgei Maning Leikai and a Class 6 pupil at Catholic School, Canchipur, Linthoi is the daughter of Khuraijam Arbindo Meitei and Biteshori Leima.

She trains under Sensei Khadangbam Sanjit at the Kanglei Sports Academy, Kiyamgei.
